Glenda Lloyd

Musical Director - Glenda Lloyd

Glenda was a founding member of Brindabella Chorus in 1990, and has been the Musical Director since 1992. In 2016 she was awarded the title of Master Director after the chorus scored the requisite 600 points in competition.

Glenda has been a member of the Regional Education Faculty since 1999 and in 2021 was appointed as an International Education Faculty member of Sweet Adelines International. She enjoys travelling around Australia coaching other choruses and quartets.

Glenda is a vocal music arranger and songwriter, and a number of leading men's and women's groups sing her arrangements around the world.

Glenda has sung in a number of quartets over the years including Real Time, Synchronicity, Tonal Obsession and Debacle (2018 and 2022 Australian champion quartet). Glenda currently sings bass with Skylark Quartet, who are the 2023 Australian champion quartet, 2023 Barbershop Harmony Australia champion quartet and 2023 Pan Pacific women's champion quartet.

Glenda has a fairly eclectic musical background. She played recorder, trumpet and organ as a child, and taught herself to play guitar and piano (badly!). She sang in school choirs and musicals and took drama as a major in high school. She has made radio and television commercials, briefly fronted a country band and worked for a number of years as a karaoke host!

Glenda is currently employed as an IT Manager at a federal government department. She loves spending time with her husband Richard, their rather large extended family and their cats.

Glenda is a lifetime Sweet Adeline...there is music in her soul, and always a tune playing in her head...in four parts, of course.
